Rules come from your admit card, not from here. What to carry, reporting times and what is banned are published by NTA with your admit card and they change between cycles. Read yours. Everything below is about how to use the day, not what the rules are.
The day before
Do not learn anything new. The marks available from one more chapter are smaller than the marks you lose from a bad night, and that trade is worse than it feels at the time. Revise things you already know, because that is calming rather than destabilising.
Sort the logistics the day before so the morning has no decisions in it: route, timing, documents.
The first ten minutes on a computer-based paper
This is new for 2027 and worth thinking about once. You will get a login step, instructions, and a screen you have never used unless you have practised on one. Spend the first moments finding the palette and the timer, then start. People lose more time hunting for the interface than they expect.

During the paper
- Leave what you cannot narrow down. A wrong answer costs the mark plus the four you would have had.
- Mark and move rather than sitting on an undecided question, since on screen a half-read question has to be read again.
- Do not audit your score as you go. It changes nothing and it costs attention.
Afterwards
NTA publishes an answer key and a challenge window. If you think a question was wrong, the challenge process is the route, and it is occasionally how questions end up with two accepted answers. Details on NTA's site.
Questions
What should I do the day before NEET?
Nothing new. Confirm your centre and documents, sleep, and revise only things you already know. Learning new material the day before mostly costs you sleep, which costs you more marks than the material was worth.
What do I need to carry to the NEET exam centre?
Your admit card and the photo ID it specifies, plus anything else NTA lists for your cycle. The requirements are published with the admit card and they do change, so read yours rather than a list from last year.
