Answer: A

Infection begins when a female Anopheles mosquito injects sporozoites into the human during a bite (E). Sporozoites travel through the blood to the liver (D), multiply asexually in liver cells and burst out into the blood (B), then invade and multiply asexually in RBCs, rupturing them (A). Finally gametocytes develop in the RBCs (C) to be taken up by the mosquito. Correct order: E, D, B, A, C.
